Dabs & Mountain Sports: Proper ‘Elevation’

Planning a trip up the mountain for ‘active relaxation’ this summer? Whether you’re a beginner mountain biker, expert climber, or just looking to explore the wilderness and its variety of trails and activities – staying safe, nourished, and responsibly “lifted” doesn’t have to be a chore. Too often, many people underestimate their needs when they venture out into nature. Here at WaxNax, we want to keep you prepped & informed so that your experience goes from standard to amazing anywhere you go.

With our inserts, proper self-care is just a few seconds away. Whether you’re dabbing for anxiety, inflammation, soreness, or just wanting to relax a little bit more, there’s surely a concentrate for you!

In this blog we’ll discuss the essentials of what to bring with you on your adventure, and also some handy cannabis-related products that will aid in your experience.

WHAT TO BRING: THE ESSENTIALS

While it seems self-explanatory that being prepared for any trip away from home is crucial to having a good time, being in nature requires some absolute essentials to keep you safe and comfortable. Our hectic schedules sometimes make us quite forgetful at the most inopportune moments, and so here are some things to try to remember not to forget (often times easier said than done):

Water: this one cannot be stressed enough. Having enough H2O in your supplies for yourself and your buddies is perhaps the most important commodity to have when struck by sudden thirst, or dealing with situations in which there just isn’t any water to drink. If traveling in a group, lighten the load by distributing the water weight throughout several packs.

Versatile Footwear: nothing can ruin your camping trip faster than packing the wrong type of footwear. As a rule of thumb, mountainous terrain requires harder-bottomed hiking sneakers or boots in order to be prepared for both wet and dry conditions. Running shoes and tennis sneakers, although comfortable, will not protect you “when the going gets tough”.

Pocket Knife/Rope: being in nature means having to be prepared for anything and everything. Tent repair, clothing and shoe repair, foraging, fire-starting, and even emergency rescue can all be accomplished by using simple tools, and two of the most vital are a knife and some sturdy rope.

Rain Gear: thunderstorms, torrential rain, hail and even snow can occur almost without warning at high elevations, and being away from your camp or car can seem quite daunting if you’re not prepared. Be sure to pack a lightweight wind-breaker, rain jacket, or poncho with you along with some rubber boots for good measure.

PRODUCTS FOR CONVENIENT ‘ELEVATION’

With the essentials out of the way, we are now ready to talk about another most important part of your mountain adventure: Your medicine and/or party favors! Our portable cases (such as the WaxNax 14 Glass Insert Pack) make it a breeze to fit in your bag or pocket, so you’ll be stocked with individually chosen flavors to spice up your trip.

If you’re looking for a great, quick way to consume our inserts, look no further than the (Dip Devices Dipper Vaporizer). With its compact design, instant-heat coil, and replaceable Quartz Crystal Atomizer, you’ll be seconds away from relief and relaxation anywhere on the mountain.

Here at WaxNax, we believe that proper and convenient cannabinoid consumption goes hand-in-hand with the many exciting activities that exist for us in our vibrant world. With our inserts in your back pocket, the difference between feeling good and feeling great can be tremendous. Happy adventuring and may the ‘Nax be with you!

WHAT TO EXPECT AT HIGHER ALTITUDES

For those with minimal experience at higher altitudes, there are a few things to keep in mind when going on that mountain adventure. As we get higher and higher up, there is less oxygen in the air, so be sure to pay attention to your breathing and the breathing patterns of your friends as well. As we ascend, we also lose water at an accelerated rate. So, as mentioned earlier, be sure to have ample H2O at your disposal at all times. Perhaps the most important advice we can give to all prospective mountain adventurers is to take your ascent and your movement slow and steady, especially in extremely high altitudes.
